HIPEX™ CHAIR (Pelvic Floor)

HIPEX™ Chair — Pelvic Floor Muscle Stimulation

Bladder control issues affect far more people than most realise — and the impact goes beyond the physical. Leakage, urgency and pelvic discomfort can bring anxiety, self-consciousness and a real toll on daily confidence. The HIPEX™ chair offers a comfortable, non-invasive way to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles that support bladder function, for women and men, at any age. How the HIPEX™ Chair Works You simply sit down, fully clothed, in the HIPEX™ chair. Using HIFEM technology, the chair delivers thousands of high-intensity pelvic floor contractions during each session — far more than could be achieved through manual pelvic floor exercises alone. There’s no undressing, no discomfort and no recovery time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the HIPEX Chair treat?

The HIPEX Chair is used for pelvic floor rehabilitation — this includes stress and urge urinary incontinence, and general pelvic floor weakness, in both women and men. It’s ARTG-listed (ARTG 338736) for this purpose.

You sit fully clothed on the chair while it delivers deep, repeated pelvic floor muscle contractions — often described as the equivalent of thousands of Kegel exercises in a single 28-minute session, well beyond what you could achieve doing Kegels yourself.

Most treatment plans involve a course of sessions over several weeks, generally twice a week. Your practitioner will confirm a plan suited to your specific goals at your consultation.

Some people notice a change in awareness or control after the first couple of sessions, but meaningful, lasting improvement typically builds over the full course of treatment.

The HIPEX Chair isn’t suitable for everyone. It’s not recommended if you’re pregnant, have a cardiac pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, have certain metal implants (such as a copper IUD) near the treatment area, or have specific heart conditions. We review your health history at consultation to confirm you’re a suitable candidate.

No. The contraindication relates specifically to copper IUDs, because the copper component can heat up in response to the electromagnetic field. Mirena (and other hormonal IUDs) don’t contain copper, so they aren’t a contraindication for this treatment. As always, let us know what you have at your consultation so we can confirm everything’s suitable for you.

Most people have no side effects at all. A small number report mild, temporary muscle soreness after a session — similar to how you might feel after starting a new type of exercise — which typically settles within a day or two.
